Larne Times continue to raise Factor50 awareness
Thu 6th May 10 - 16:35

THE malignant melanoma charity inspired by Larne man Jon Herron has been boosted by the energetic efforts of Larne Ladies' Hockey Club and friends. Jon's sister Catherine Wilson was among those who took part in Monday's Belfast Marathon, running as part of two relay teams through the city streets. Their efforts raised funds for the club and for Factor 50, the cancer charity inspired by Ion.

Meanwhile, this Saturday (May 8) the charity will benefit from the proceeds of a big breakfast being held at Larne Masonic Centre, Mill Brae, having been chosen by the Larne and District Masonic Charities
Committee as recipients of this annual event.

The breakfast will be from Sam to 10.30am, with all proceeds going to Factor 50. Donations are welcome of £10 per person. Factor 50 aims to raise awareness of the dangers of over exposure to the sun, the use of sunbeds and to raise funds for research and clinical trials for malignant melanoma.
