After an incredibly successful first year, Factor 50 are delighted to announce the sponsorship of Inter Didsbury Football Club, who play in the Cheshire and Manchester Football League.
The charity was founded to raise the awareness of malignant melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer, and sits under the umbrella of The Christie Hospital in Manchester. The deal struck with the club means the charity will have exclusive shirt sponsorship of the team during the 2009/10 season.
Factor 50 founder Gillian Nuttall, and fundraiser Andy Worthington unveiled the new kit before the clubs first home game at Fog Lane on Sunday much to the delight of the team. This was followed by a great 4-1 win over rivals Manchester Valiant, adding to a successful start to the season.
Gillian Nuttall, PR & Marketing Manager at Manchester law firm Ralli, commented after the game: “Given that malignant melanoma has taken the lives of several sporting stars, we recognize that it is important to raise awareness in this area particularly with this age group of young adults. When Mark Moody from Inter Didsbury talked to us about sponsorship, it was an easy decision as they are helping spread the awareness amongst football players, their friends and families. Factor 50 and Inter Didsbury are hoping for a good season both on and off the pitch and we look forward to supporting them”.
Mark Moody of Inter Didsbury commented: “Over the summer months we have put a large amount of work into raising the profile of the club with a new website, www.interdidsbury.co.uk. When we were looking at sponsorship options it was decided that we wanted to support a worthy cause, and it was great that Gill and Factor 50 have agreed to work with us and provided the fantastic new kit. It is a charity which all of us can relate to and even during our first game we had the opposition asking about Factor 50. We look forward to working with Gill and the team going forward and have some great events planned to raise the profile of the charity.”
