CHARITY STARTS AT HOME

In April 2007 Ralli PR and Marketing Manager, Gill Nuttall, started a fundraising group on behalf of The Christie. Factor 50 was formed in honour of Gill’s friend, Jon Herron who sadly passed away from Malignant Melanoma.  Having seen the struggles Jon faced and the excellent care and support he received from the Christie Hospital, Gill began working closely with the research team who specialise in Malignant Melanoma.

The Christie Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is the largest single site oncology centre in Europe and its team has the largest melanoma practice in the UK.  Gill aims to help create awareness of the disease, the importance of skin care protection - as well as raise £250,000.
Throughout last year Gill helped to organised various successful fundraising events and more recently has been working extremely hard in preparing for the first Factor 50 dinner which was sponsored by Ralli.  The dinner took place on 25 April 2009 at the Lowry Hotel, Manchester.

The evening began with a champagne reception followed by entertainment during the dinner from Catherine Tyldesley, Paul Pashley (the man who sang Swing at the Rooney wedding), and Souled as Seen.

Ralli’s sponsorship of the event was complemented by David M Robinson, who kindly donated 2 Tag Heuer his and hers watches for the main raffle.  Auction items included an African Safari trip, tandem Sky Dive, sporting and music memorabilia.
The event was a great success and a most thoroughly enjoyable evening. Stephen Fox, Senior Partner at Ralli said “The event was truly a joy to be associated with. Charity really can be fun.”
